Leviathan

2022

A reinterpretation of the frontispiece to Hobbes’ Leviathan, in which a sovereign composed of countless bodies rises over the land as an emblem of dominion over everything beneath it. The image is recast in what the artist considers a more truthful register, not as an emblem of order but as a body that endures by consuming what lies under it.
